Now you can build your own backyard swing set at a much lower cost with our Free Standing Swing Beam kit! Perfect for the do-it-yourselfer, our kits save you lots of money by not including the heavy, bulky, and expensive to ship lumber.
Arguably the strongest and safest free-standing swing beam kit available! Plan-it Play incorporates two of their patented 7 gauge steel brackets with 6 horizontal and diagonal wood braces. This greatly reduces side to side movement and with a foot print of 12' x 10.5" the swing beam can safely support up to an incredible 900 lbs.! Only zinc-plated hardware is used to ensure years of play and weathering in the elements. The swings and trapeze bar are included and are available in blue, green or yellow. The Free Standing Swing Beam is the perfect fit for parents who like small kits and children who love big thrills.

Have a truck or plan on paying to get it deliverd. It cost me 65 to get the wood. I would say I spent 4 hour making this. I did use other tools like a router to round over the edges and a sander to smooth the boards. I would say that the packaging of this can be much much better. My kid would do a better job. Some bubble wrap would go a long way to help. I had to repaint the brackets as they were scrached. Over all the parts are of very good quality and I would buy it again. I hope I help you.

Okay, so the idea is to save money with hardware kit only and then you'd get lumber locally. Hypotherically speaking. In reality, we spent way way more than if just went with one of the sets sold by chain stores that already include wood. It was actually hard to find the largest beam of lumber because no one carries it in stock, and we live in a major metro area. Also, you will pay to have it delivered. This is one of those cases when you waste money trying to be frugal. Very bad idea and deal.
The reason I'm giving it two stars and not one is because the quality of the included parts is good, except that ours were so badly thrown in the box that they got scratched and had to be replaced. Still, not worth the money, hassle, and the effort. Take my word for it. Wish my husband had, who now agrees with me. Too late.
